Clear terms for a quiet place to write.

1. Who provides Efef

Efef is operated by Maung Zar Ni in Australia. In these Terms, “Efef”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that service. Questions can be sent to hello@efef.io.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement to create an account. You must use an email address you control, keep access to that mailbox secure and not share sign-in links. You are responsible for activity through your account unless you promptly tell us it has been compromised.

When early registration is enabled in character creation, selecting Get started records your profile name and email to set up your efef account, along with your acceptance of the displayed notice. An existing account is not changed. You verify your email when you choose to save your hero; getting started does not automatically save a character or subscribe you to marketing. Our Privacy Policy explains how these details are stored and retained.

3. The Free Writer

Efef provides a free fiction-writing service with editing, manuscript structure, local project storage and export. Account-private cloud saving is included in Free. Projects save on your device first and then to your account, so cloud-saved work can be opened after signing in on another device.

Connected story understanding and paid upgrades are not part of this free service. If those services become available, we will explain their price, data use and any additional terms before you choose them.

4. Your work and the rights you keep

• You keep ownership of the stories, notes and worlds you create.
• Efef does not sell or license your manuscript to other people or companies.
• Efef does not use your manuscript to train Efef or third-party models.
• You may export and delete projects available in the Writer.

You give Efef and its infrastructure providers only the limited permission needed to process, store, back up and return your project data to provide, secure and recover the service you request. Account-private cloud storage is not end-to-end encrypted: authorised systems and operators can technically access content for these purposes. This does not transfer ownership or give us permission to publish, sell, train on or use your story for another purpose. The Privacy Notice explains the data boundary.

5. Recovery and protecting your work

Sign in to the same account to open cloud-saved projects on another device. No recovery kit is required. Keep access to your email account secure. Efef retains bounded earlier cloud restore points, not an unlimited history. Restoring one creates a new project without replacing the current version. Keep regular exports as an independent safeguard.

An offline or interrupted edit may temporarily exist only in the current browser until its status confirms a completed cloud save. Do not clear browser storage, use a private browsing window for important work or discard the device while a cloud save is waiting for connection or needs attention.

6. Fair and lawful use

You must not use Efef to:

• break the law or knowingly violate another person's rights;
• attack, probe, disrupt or bypass the security or access controls of the service;
• impersonate another person or misuse an email address you do not control;
• introduce malware or automate access in a way that harms the service or others;
• resell, reverse engineer or exploit the service except where law permits it.

These rules protect the service. They do not give Efef ownership of a lawful fictional work or permission to reuse it for unrelated purposes.

7. Service changes, suspension and closure

Efef will evolve. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or events outside our reasonable control. Where a material change could affect access to writing, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and preserve an export path where technically possible.

We may limit or suspend an account that presents a security risk or materially breaches these Terms. We will use a proportionate response and, where safe and lawful, tell you why and provide a way to contact us. You may delete your account at any time from Account settings.

8. Third-party services

Efef relies on providers for website hosting, authentication, cloud storage and backups, account email, bot protection and support email. Their role and data handling are listed in the Privacy Notice. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; their own terms and privacy notices apply when you visit them.

9. Consumer guarantees and responsibility

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a statutory guarantee applies, you may be entitled to a remedy if it is not met.

Subject to those non-excludable rights, Efef is provided without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We are responsible for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our failure to use reasonable care or comply with these Terms. A backup is not a guarantee of zero data loss, especially for unsynchronised changes. Clearing the only browser copy while offline can lose those pending changes. These limitations do not excuse Efef from using reasonable care in the service it provides.

10. Resolving concerns

Please email hello@efef.io first so we can try to resolve a concern promptly. Nothing in these Terms removes a consumer right, remedy, regulator or court that the law makes available where you live.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Efef changes. We will publish the new effective date and give reasonable notice before a material change applies. Changes will not transfer ownership of your work to Efef. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you may export your work and close your account before they take effect.

Founding pledges

Pledging is optional. Creating and saving your hero, ordinary account access and skipping remain free. New pledge purchases are currently closed. Existing purchases and their reward commitments remain recorded. Any explicitly labelled sandbox Checkout is a test, not a real purchase.

Your badge and web hero card are available after payment is confirmed. All other listed rewards are commitments for prelaunch or game launch, but delivery dates are not confirmed. They are not available today. The website being live does not mean the game or these rewards have launched.

The one-time Australian totals are A$15, A$35 and A$65. The seller is Maung Zar Ni, who is not GST-registered. The purchase summary records the exact offer, total, delivery terms and accepted version before you continue to Stripe. No recurring payment is authorised.

Full refunds before the Efef game launches, including after digital reward delivery. Refunded benefits are revoked; your saved hero is unaffected. Statutory consumer rights are not excluded.

Upgrades cost only the difference between tiers. Inherited rewards are not delivered twice.

You may change the reward-linked hero until personalised work starts. After that, its reward snapshot is locked; replacing your ordinary hero remains free.

The offer and reward commitments accepted with your order are preserved. Later changes to advertised packages do not remove those commitments from an existing purchase.

No founder preview access, subscription, gameplay advantage, unlimited AI usage or all-future-content access. Your hero and account remain free.

For support or a refund request, contact hello@efef.io with your order reference; do not send card details. A return URL alone does not confirm payment. Check your authenticated pledge history before attempting another payment.
